Things to do with plastic bags

August 3rd, 2007

Plastic bags. I’ve been feeling the guilt over them enough to start collecting all of them to be reused by a local family business. Of course, if you don’t know anyone who can reuse the bags, you can always take them back to the recycling drop-offs at most grocery stores. I’ll post that photo again.

I used to throw away plastic bags that were wet instead of saving them in the reuse pile. Now I leave them on top of my recycling containers to dry. It’s really not that big of a deal. And the trash doesn’t fill up as quickly when you don’t throw out 15 bags per shopping trip.

You could reuse the plastic bags yourself. I found an entertaining list of ways to reuse a small plastic bag on the side of a Target bag. Among the uses: doggy duty, water balloon, roadtrip rubbish, ice pack for head lump.
