The really sad thing about plastic bags is that they can harm marine mammals and turtles. I saw a plastic bag floating in the lake at my apartments just a few days ago. There are hundreds of turtles living in that lake. Personally, I like turtles and don’t want to see them mistake a bag for food or get caught up inside one.

The best way to combat the plastic bag problem is to purchase reusable shopping bags. I’ve been looking around for some that I think I can live with. I’ll let you know what I finally decide on.
