A Cat’s (Repurposed) Dream Toy

March 6th, 2010

A less than perfect eco gal, I sometimes find myself leaving a store carrying a paper shopping bag with sturdy cotton-string handles. The paper bags are easy to recycle, but the strings?

Cut them loose. Tie them together. Wind it all up into a free cat toy.

It’s the perfect “ball of yarn” that’s every feline’s dream, and you don’t have to go to Hobby Lobby for it. Just re-ravel after each cat attack!

Don’t allow Mr. Kitty to play with this toy when you’re not around though. I don’t want to hear of any strangled cats. Oh, and I’m not suggesting you stop taking your own bags to the store either, but for those times you make an unexpected trip to the mall with no bags in hand, this project will allow you to put those strings to good use.

My poor kitties love strings but don’t get to play with them any more, because the dog takes them away. Poor kitties.

Sounds like the cats need some dog-free play time 🙂
