If you have green ideas or questions for me (Peggy Rowland), send them to

peggy (DOT) rowland (AT) gmail (DOT) com

I receive many emails from public relations pros, and they’re usually appreciated. However, if you’re a marketer, here are a few things I’d like you to keep in mind:

Descriptive subject lines are very helpful to me when I’m searching for your email later. In other words, “Eco Brand Bags” not “A cool item for your blog.”

If you’re writing about a product and have a great image I may use, go ahead and attach a jpeg. Please don’t attach images you’re not giving me permission to use. That’s so confusing and sometimes misleading.

If available, please include a link to the product, book or person you’re promoting.

Please note that I don’t accept items for review that are wasteful (example: disposable liners for pet bowls) or full of chemicals or just simply not related to the subjects I write about (green living and home, pets, health). I’m also not interested in reviewing items I must ship back. If I can’t use the item, I’ll find someone who can, but frequent trips to the post office just aren’t fun.

If you want to sponsor a contest, I’ll ask that you ship the prize directly to the winner, not me.

If I don’t respond to your pitch, that means I’m either thinking about it or not interested. You’re welcome to follow up once or twice, but pushy, excessive emails get deleted.

Hi peggy I love your blog. I am trying to become more green too. I have started making my own cleaning products from store cupboard basics and I have been making my own beauty products for a few years now. All these products are just as effective as commercially produced items, they just cost less, are chemical free and reduce the need to recycle.

I am a mom of two girls. Throwing out birthday party gift-wrap made me realize I had become a significant contributor to the landfill crisis in our country…. so this summer I did something about it.
I reached out to an incredible horticulturist, Jim Johansen, , and together we developed
    Flowering Wrapping Paper!
I wanted to create an accessible way for people to make a difference. This is a product we all use, and if you can give the gift of flowers as well, even better!
This pre-seeded gift-wrap is made from 100% recycled paper and currently available in 3 colors, with more on the way! The planting instructions are easy to follow and can be found with our gift cards and on our website : http://www.littlekaygardens.com.
