Thanks for all the interesting pumpkin stories below. Rechargeable batteries don’t have a lot to do with pumpkins, but I like them both.
I switched to rechargeable batteries about four years ago. My Kit Kat clock gets regular recharges. I can’t imagine buying new batteries each time his tail stops swinging!
Other uses I’ve found for rechargeables include flashlights, remote controls, digital cameras and portable CD players. If you have kids, I’m sure there are plenty of toys you could animate with rechargeables.
I’ve been happy with Energizer rechargeables, but there are many brands to choose from. If you’ve never used rechargeable before, keep in mind that you will have to charge the batteries before you use them. It doesn’t take long though. And when the batteries lose charge, you can put in an already-charged set you keep on hand. I’m not electroncially nerdy at all, so you can do it too! (If you already use rechargeables, yay for you. I’m sure you are hooked on it.)
Green batteries seems to be an interesting resource on all things battery. You can order batteries from them as well. I’ve found that using rechargeables is not only good for the environment, but it’s much cheaper and more convenient than regular batteries.
