When you have plastic bags . . .

September 20th, 2007

Nita from Nita’s Notes shared with me that she recently talked with a business owner who uses all donated bags (reused from Target or Wal-Mart, etc.). These businesses are out there, but it may take a little looking and asking to find them.

I have to admit something. I sometimes get in a hurry and end up at the grocery store without my reusable bags. (They are at home from the last trip.) Boo, but it happens. So, I can either take those bags to recycling (most grocery stores have a drop off for plastic bags now) or I can give them to a business to reuse.

Reusing is best. A good place to donate your bags is at your local Farmer’s Market. Or maybe a flea market or crafts fair. An antique shop would also be a good place to donate your bags.

If you are donating to a regular business address, I would recommend calling ahead first to make sure the business owner wants to reuse bags. You don’t want to give them to someone who throws them away the minute you leave.
