What’s more interesting than a lion and unicorn holding up an orb with a Trojan head on top? It looks like the Prats Brothers used a version of the British royal coat of arms for their logo, but I’m not an expert on such things.
This vintage wine box is one of the reasons I love to visit antique stores. Who needs Restoration Hardware?
I hear you asking what I”m going to do with such a box. I think I’ll store odd objects that I always want to have around, but that don’t look so great sitting on the coffee table. I’m talking about remotes, lotion, lion treats, etc.
I like how the wine logo is stamped on the inside lid as well. You can leave it open with decorative objects inside if you want. I haven’t gone that route yet though.
I haven’t been able to date this box, so if you’re a vintage wine nerd, please inform! I paid $19 for it at my local antique mall. I doubt it’s worth much, but to me it represents a special memory of antique shopping with my husband. Yep, he’s the one who spotted it. I walked on by.
