Not money, of course. If you’ve been wanting to go more green, but need a few tools to make it easier, add them to your Christmas list. That way, when someone asks you what you want for Christmas, you can talk about reusable shopping bags and all that fun stuff! Here are some ideas to help you:
- Thoughtful Tees are available from Gaiam. For each organic cotton shirt purchased, $5 is donated to a good cause associated with the shirt. For example, if you get the koi tee, $5 is donated to the World Wildlife Fund. Plus, Gaiam.com lets the shopper easily add $2 to the order for planting a tree. (Koi shirt image from Gaiam.)
- If you are looking for an easy alternative to wasteful plastic cutlery in your lunch box, try this interesting option: Stainless Steel Cutlery Set.
- This EarthTote reusable shopping bag stands up like a paper bag and there’s nothing girly looking about it at all. I know some men don’t like to use cloth shopping bags…
- Burt’s Bees asks, “Don’t like the idea of coating your lips with a derivative of crude oil? Neither did we.” Try some beeswax on your lips instead of petroleum. Available in a recycled plastic tube for around $3. A good thing to find in your stocking.
- Permanent coffee filters are a perfect alternative to paper filters. Not only will you never have to buy another paper filter, but your coffee will taste better too.
