It’s only eco if you need it.

It’s wonderful so many retail stores are now offering their own versions of eco bags. Or is it? You can find shopping bags almost everywhere now, from Fossil to Macy’s.

I know at least one person who collects shopping totes.

If someone buys a bag because it’s cute and never uses it to carry purchases, then it’s not a green bag. It’s not an eco bag. It’s nothing more than wasteful.

I love reusable shopping bags. I take mine almost everywhere. Yet, I’ve got to wonder if the expensive “green shopping bags” in many stores are sending the right message.

Tell me about your shopping bags. Where did you get them, and how often do you use them?

Most of my shopping bags are organic cotton canvas bags from various co-ops that I’ve been to. Some of them are about ten years old, and I use them almost every time I go grocery shopping or go to the library, etc. I bought a couple Chico bags last year but stopped using them because they wore out so quickly and weren’t as big and sturdy as my canvas bags.
